ME EN 415: Flight Vehicle Design

This course examines fundamental principles for designing flight vehicles (e.g., airplanes and rockets). This includes introductions to aerodynamics, structures, stability, propulsion, and performance. Rather than diving deeply into any one discipline, our focus is on understanding fundamental trade-offs amongst these multidisciplinary considerations to allow one to approach vehicle-level design problems. This class will involve a combination of theory, computational methods, and a hands-on project.
